Backyard Fire Pit Safety

Permanent and/or portable fire pits can bring fire danger to your home. Please read all SAFETY information before using our fire pits and accessories. You can help prevent fire or burn injuries with these simple tips:
  • Only use the fire pit, ring, or globe outside
  • Make sure fire pit is at least three feet away from house and anything that can burn
  • Place your fire pit, globe, or ring on safe spot such as stone surface or bare ground - do NOT place on grass
  • Don't use flammable fluids such as gasoline, alcohol, diesel fuel, kerosene, or charcoal lighter fluid to light or relight
  • Burn only dry, seasoned wood
  • Do not use in windy conditions
  • Use metal screen over wood-burning fires to keep sparks from floating out
  • Keep source of water and dirt handy to extinguish flames
  • Turn off or put out fires before leaving backyard
  • Store matches and lighters out of children’s sight/reach
  • Closely watch children when fire pit is in use
